{"id":101,"date":"2022-02-10T11:53:34","date_gmt":"2022-02-10T11:53:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lilytaylor.com\/blog\/?p=101"},"modified":"2022-02-10T11:53:34","modified_gmt":"2022-02-10T11:53:34","slug":"adonis-tuggle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lilytaylor.com\/blog\/uncategorized\/adonis-tuggle\/","title":{"rendered":"Adonis Tuggle"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Yesterday, African American Purdue student, Adonis Tuggle was assaulted by White American officer Jon Selke. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tuggle&#8217;s girlfriend, with whom he was arguing when the police were called, filmed the act of police brutality. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The video shows the campus police officer pushing Tuggle into the snow and pressing his elbow against Tuggle&#8217;s neck. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tuggle says, &#8220;you&#8217;re choking me&#8221; multiple times and begs the officer to stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The video is awful. I cannot imagine what Tuggle went through, and he probably feared for his life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Purdue later released a <a href=\"https:\/\/mailimages.purdue.edu\/vo\/?FileID=85c4bb86-ccf2-4234-bf59-02273774dbdf&amp;m=ec007767-98c4-4ff2-91cb-1d53a870edc9&amp;MailID=42662929&amp;listid=121231&amp;RecipientID=21209710024\">statement<\/a> condemning the act and offering mental health resources. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I don&#8217;t know how politics or campus police work, but the Purdue University PD needs to fire Selke for his outrageous conduct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I hope Adonis Tuggle will get justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m not trying to make everything about me, but I honestly don&#8217;t know what else to say on this topic. I&#8217;m so used to sharing personal stories in responses to my friends&#8217; emotions that I don&#8217;t know how to express remorse or connect with someone without doing so.
